Closed or open borders on the southern frontier of the USA is the central question of Mr. Hanson's thesis. He gives the reader the full spectrum of pros and cons to contemplate in his description of the state of California the way he sees it as a native farmer and professor of history.

The complexities of the Mexican illegal immigration that California seems to be the epicenter may spread across the country if the governments on each side of the divide do not pay attention to the reasons for that migration. The movements of that migration must be either stopped or opened is the question the USA Congress and the American people must decide - walls or no walls.

MEXIFORNIA is a piece of excellent background information as to what has happened since the 1970s to the present situation. Latins, illegal or not, are the backbone of the farming industry in that state.

According to the author, his and thousands of Californians’ lives have changed with the constant flow of young migrants replacing older ones, working on farms and hard labor.  Many of them have not acquired the ability to assimilate to become citizens or speak the English language.

This situation has changed the economic landscape, much for the worst, and could spread throughout the USA.

Morgan, a lawyer, who has worked on the government's side of the bench before her semi-retirement because of a horrific event in her life, finds herself defending the rights of a friend. The friend, a young man, is accused of killing another friend of Morgan's.

With the help of Lance and company, Morgan goes into an investigative mood. In detecting, they confront many obstacles and by government officials because they have their man - her young friend.

Will, there be a trial or will Morgan, and Lance find the real killer? Only if they stay alive will they find the killer, and this becomes a blockage in their investigation also - some people want Morgan and her client dead.

Ms. Leigh intriguing story that keeps the reader guessing as to whodunit. I was surprised at the beginning and the end.

This love affair presented many problems, and she runs away, close by, with the man's help. However, was it help he was providing?

She goes on a merry-go-round with many exciting results. Will she be able to grab the golden ring and be with her love?

Alison's romantic chance turns into an experience she'll never forget nor will her family. Will she move down in the class structure for love?

This romance is an easy and pleasant read with fun story twists and turns including a sea adventure.

Mr. Steele's raconteuring of the past sins in the USA from the 1960s to the present highlights the culture wars of Liberalism vs. Conservatism, which Liberalism won. Those wars ended with a great divide that continues today.

Referring to the manipulating of Black culture, he states, "This liberalism is invested in an overstatement of America's present sinfulness based on the nation's past sins." These confrontations cannot continue, is my understanding of his discourse.

Mr. Steele tells a few stories to make his case of this hypocrisy of the left's philosophy. One is that of Justice Clarence Thomas, who graduated from Yale Law School. Did the institution treat him as a man or as a 'black man'? 

According to Mr. Steele, the Justice's Yale diploma is not on his office wall. You decide after reading the story.

The writing was clear and precise. You don't need a college degree to understand Mr. Steele's thoughts, but you will have to be open-minded to agree or disagree with his treatise.

The Hack is an international crime thriller that has so many plots going at the same time the reader is kept reading at a fast pace to keep up with the characters. Hunter and Kate O'Sullivan are brought together because of a worldwide crime syndicate camouflaged as a Travel Company.

O'Sullivan, a reporter wannabe, and her brother come upon a story when he hacks the CIA's files. The story hits the presses, and all hell breaks out while Hunter is doing what he does best - killing.

This novel has all genres rolled into one - romance, thriller, cybercrime, child trafficking for sex, and an international whodunit, but the reader will know whodunit and who hacked. Will they be caught?

That is the thrill of this read. The reader is on the edge of the chair waiting for the criminals to be apprehended - the good and the bad ones.

That conclusion is wrapped up in an explosive ending the reader will remember for days. And, maybe buy the next Hunter/O'Sullivan sequel.

Review of Dinner and a Murder

Nikki Hunter, P.I., goes to her High School reunion and gets invited to dinner by a classmate she has not seen in years. He requests her aid in unraveling what he says is murder, but the police report it as not - the person worked on his shift at the airport.

She looks into the case, and their world moves faster than usual with others dying.  The crimes point to one, but not all evidence fall in place.

Nikki gets help and to her credit, its needed during the investigation and in the end when this thriller peeks.  At that point in the story, the reader will believe one person did the crimes.  Then all goes into high speed to a deadly ending.

Quick read. Good series characters, and for dog lovers, some dogs help make the story a little fun.

A Flamingo Realty Mystery

CEECEE is one of my go-to authors when looking for the enjoyment of a good mystery. The genre I read the most. Her endeavors keep you glued to the page - this one went by in a flash.

Stella moves back to Pennsylvania to work for her uncle's realty company; she is assigned to help sell a family manor; she finds something that should not be on the third floor. What she finds starts the thread of events that are the mystery.

The storyline is not that simple. The residents of the house are hiding something that leads Stella in a snooping direction - interviewing the town's people to get to the root of the matter.

The history of the family unfolds into a close to deadly ending - the mystery man or Stella. All the bits of information that Stella collect now made sense and the house is sold.

Stella's investigation falls into place without her trying or knowing in a pleasant read. The characters are well put together for a series. CEECEE keeps your attention.
