This novel is a mystery
that has strange bedfellows: ghosts and witches. Juli inherits uncle Jed's
restaurant, 'Snips and Snails,' and ends up looking for his murderer.
The story is full of laughs a minute as Juli navigates learning how to be a Soup Witch with the help of Grans, a witch, running a restaurant, and dealing with the ghosts/cats in the kitchen. As an investigator, she upsets locals and the police chief, looking for clues.
With all this going on, Juli finds a relationship with Jack, a firefighter, a la hunk. He helps her to understand the humans in her new hometown and find the killer.
She is on her own with the other witches and ghosts.
Ms. Rain's novel is an enjoyable read.
