Aliens in Merry Olde London, could it be? The Reeves are from another universe and settled in the United Kingdom in the 1800s.

Reeves Hall is miles from their London business, where a catastrophe has happened. Because women on the Reeves home planet command respect and power, Liora's brother transforms her into a man because English men control business and the country.

En route to London, she encounters the Duke of Coleford. They have a homosexual encounter. From this point on, the Duke is confused about what will happen next, and so is the reader.

New events bring the two together, leading them to try to solve a crime and shape the fate of the Duke's love affair. The tangled web is set.

The prose is colorful and flows well. However, I found the plot hard to believe because it relies on too many scientific examples.
