Putting two women into
a conspiracy against men would raise hell. In WINE CLUB, Ms. Romes has
interwoven the stories of four women and their personalities, living under one
roof, into a play of disasters and triumphs.
These women, led by wealthy Elaina, owner of a large house they all move into, come together because of marital problems, i.e., divorces. How each marriage ended brings up various questions as to why they lived with those men in the first place.
The solutions to the ladies' endeavors evolve into conflicts between themselves. Some are sad, and some are funny.
However, the story as a whole does work and keeps the reader wondering what will come next right up to the end---an enjoyable, Good Read.
