Review of TRAFFICKING

TRAFFICKING

(Powell Book 1)

BILL WARD

Review by Author Roy Murry

Sex trafficking is a global human problem. Mr. Ward places his story of a challenge to combat it in London against a Romanian mob.

Afina is delivered to Brighton as a sex slave under false pretenses and presents a problem for her captive. Powell, who is out to get revenge, collides with Afina's world.

He goes undercovers to meet her. At this point, Powell puts his plan into action. And thrilling action the reader will get.

At any given point in TRAFFICKING, Powell's plan and Afina's actions will lead to a few calamities.

However, they avoid total disaster in their efforts, and the ending is encouraging with a cavitate that will bring the reader back for Book 2 in this series.

The writing is high quality and fast-paced, with cliff-ending twists and turns.

Review of NOT MY FIRST RODEO

NOT MY FIRST RODEO

KRISTI NOEM

Review by Author Roy Murry

I have written one, but I have never read an autobiography until now after seeing Kristi Noem in an interview. She piqued my interest.

The story she weaves of her and her family's life will have you crying, laughing, thinking, and reviewing your own life. The strength she acquired growing up on a farm in South Dakota is inspiring.

"Burning Daylight" is a built psychic ability she learned from her father and her faith from both parents. In other words, get things done today and put your faith in God to do the right thing.

It does not matter what political party you align with; this is not a political book of theories. Instead, I believe Kristi wrote this to inspire people to think and pray on a matter before leaping into the unknown.

I am convinced.

Review of BLUEWATER PAYBACK

BLUEWATER PAYBACK

CLR Dougherty

Review by Author Roy Murry

I have read several of Mr. Dougherty's novels, which are thrilling adventures in the Caribbean. The ship Vengeance moves around the islands, and a little nautical information is interwoven into the story.

The author slowly lays the groundwork, builds on it, and gives the reader a surprising ending. The twist and turns keep the reader wondering what will happen next.

In Bluewater, he does that and more. A con is on, and no one, including Dani and Liz, owners of the Vengeance, is pulled into it.

Unraveling the plot will keep the reader involved, as I was. Slow at the beginning, this novel pace moves fast to an explosive ending for one of the bad guys.

Well, worth the read.

The Body on the Barstool

THE BODY ON THE BARSTOOL

A Top Shelf Mystery

LOLLI POWELL

Review by Author Roy Murry

This cozy mystery has all the bells and whistles of a good mystery. The characters are fun and loveable, including Jasper the cat.

Ricki returns to her hometown to take over an inherited bar, Top Shelf. A week into her management, a dead body is on a barstool.

She is suspect because of her relationship with the corpse. Here, the fun begins with twists and turns the reader will not see coming.

When the storm settles at the end, Ricki may return to New York or stay with a new Top Shelf mystery. Barstool is an excellent lead into a series.

Dawn of the Egyptian Masters

DAWN OF THE EGYPTIAN MASTERS

The Origins

From the Field Notes & Journals of M.G. Hawking

CONTRIBUTIONS BY MANY

Review by Author Roy Murry

"There are truths which are not for all men." - Voltaire

Kalika, one of the book's masters, philosophized for thousand years B.C. in Egypt and wants you to believe, "Consciousness creates everything except consciousness."

If you don't have an Inquisitive Mind and don't care to develop it to a higher level, read a romance or mystery. This book is not for you. "Dawn..." is a book chock full of thoughts to be mulled over.

The "Encounter" parts read like fantasy, but for M.G. Hawking, they are real-life meetings with adepts or related thoughts. Life in this universe is revealed.

Interwoven in the narrative of the masters are many thoughts added by people like Kant, Plato, and others. The reader will marvel at the ideas that lead to the power of man's consciousness and subconsciousness.

It is worth the purchase – lots to read and think about.

Girl, ghost, and kill

THE GIRL, THE GHOST, AND THE KILL

JOHN ESPIE

Review by Author Roy Murry

This novel is a story of misguided people - three women and one man who believes he is a god. The man kills one of the women, becoming a ghost that haunts his house, confronting the girl to help her.

They tell both sides of the women's story: ghost to girl and ghost to ghost. Their mission is to save a woman from the man and his propensity to kill.

The plot sounds complicated, and it is, but the reader will be thrilled with the ending. The spirit world communicates strangely, leading to THE KILL, according to this multi-layer story.

The writing is a little over detailed, all three hundred thirty-five pages, but the suspense keeps the reader involved. Part 4 of this novel is worth the wait.

Review FOREVER WISHES

FOREVER WISHES

LEEANNA MORGAN

Review by Author Roy Murry

'Forever Wishes' is a well-written predictable romance novel. Man meets woman. They have sex, and then...

This novel has its twists and turns. The major problem with this love story is whether to have children or not, which in today's world is a challenge.

Each person's background tells the story of why they believe in what they do concerning marriage and having children. Those and other roadblocks the two have to overcome are the cruces of their relationship.

As I noted, this is a foreseeable conclusion a lover of Romance novels will revel in.

Review of THE FEAR HUNTER

THE FEAR HUNTER

Agatha Bright Mysteries

Elise Sax

Review by Author Roy Murry

I found the story and characters strange, so I continued reading. Agatha comes out of the lighthouse, her long-time position, to manage the Bright family's soup shop - four caldrons, four soups. Need I say more.

There is a murder, and Agatha reads mystery books to solve the crime, which leads to more deaths she falls over. However, the crazy events in between should keep the reader continuing if they like strange events, including a Punk Rock knitting contest.

The prose is funny; the characters are weird; the ending is unpredictable. But, as a cozy mystery, this novel works.

Just for a little quirky fun, purchase: https://amzn.to/3acyptv

Review of DEATH TAKES A BREAK

DEATH TAKES A BREAK

A Taylor Texas Mystery

VIKKI WALTON

Review by Author Roy Murry

Christie takes a break from her day job and visits her father on the family ranch. City slickers are harassing Dad to buy his and his friend's property to build a resort.

Add into the mix are old friendships, love affairs, and what seems murder of a friend to Christie. There are some twists and turns, but the plot is easy to follow.

There is a surprise ending that the reader will have to unravel in their heads. However, Christie and her dad still have problems that lead the reader to want more of the series.

The novel's pace was a little slow, but the story kept me reading on - Good Read.

Review of The War on the West

THE WAR ON THE WEST

DOUGLAS MURRAY

Review by Roy Murry

This war is an insurgency by people in the west who have decided that the west, mainly white humans are the reason the world is in a problematic state. Their bogus explanation's basis is on FEELINGS, not facts, which is my interpretation of Murray's thesis.

Douglas Murray's evaluations are based on detailed facts with footnotes. He gives the pros and cons of these psychological and philosophical mini-wars, taking the stand that conservative thought will win the day.

It's a long journey reading Murray's book, but worth the read. His points are clear, concise, and understandable for a novice like myself with a minimal psychological background.

'WAR' is a read you need to converse with the woke people in your life. Those interfaces are needed to save the 'WEST.'

Review of WINE CLUB

No Sweat Pants Allowed

WINE CLUB

Jan Romes

Review by Author Roy Murry

Putting two women into a conspiracy against men would raise hell. In WINE CLUB, Ms. Romes has interwoven the stories of four women and their personalities, living under one roof, into a play of disasters and triumphs.

These women, led by wealthy Elaina, owner of a large house they all move into, come together because of marital problems, i.e., divorces. How each marriage ended brings up various questions as to why they lived with those men in the first place.

The solutions to the ladies' endeavors evolve into conflicts between themselves. Some are sad, and some are funny.

However, the story as a whole does work and keeps the reader wondering what will come next right up to the end---an enjoyable, Good Read.

Review of White Lily and a Teddy Bear

White Lily and a Teddy Bear

DANIEL S. SMITH

Review by Roy Murry

This story starts boring: an engineer, Don's daily routine of shit, dress, and shave (Crazy order); then he goes to work. Okay, there are some funny and sad parts: he talks to his dead wife, eats the same food each day, and reads the love commentary in the newspaper.

Don's life changes when Rachel arrives as a coworker on Monday. This adventure starts on a Wednesday and ends the following Saturday after he meets Rachel.

It's love at first smell. Yes, first smell. The involvement starts because their boss asks Don to help Rachel find an apartment.

The only drawback to this romance novel is Mr. Daniel Smith's interwoven politics into Don and Rachel's wooing, using rants. There was no need for me - I never mix love with politics.

All in all, the writing kept me engaged and was somewhat funny.

Review of JUST TYRUS

JUST TRYUS, A Memoir

TRYUS

Review by Author Roy Murry

After finishing his story, I had to think about what I read in JUST TRYUS for a few days. At first, I gave the book a five-star rating. But I reevaluated that thought - three to four-star at best.

Honesty is essential in a memoir. This work does to a point; I get it. Tryus wants to be known for his wrestling. But what is his birth name? Did I miss it?

Did I miss many things - the women in his life and their children? Unfortunately, for some reason, Tryus is not giving us the whole story. However, he alludes to that part of his life in comments on the Gutfeld Show, which I enjoy each time I see him on the show.

Tryus is not a literary spin master. His writing is uncomplicated and simply right to the point, as they are on Gutfeld. I look forward to them each time I watch the show.

His life has twists and turns, which many have also had. But he made it to the limelight, and I am glad he has. I wish him nothing but luck.

Good Read.

Review of RECKLESS

RECKLESS

A Mia Kazmaroff Mystery

SUSAN KIERNAN - LEWIS

Review by Author Roy Murry

Mia touches a person or an object and receives feelings. They lead to solving a mystery. Well, not always does she get the right vibes.

Kazmaroff must mean flaky in Russian because Mia is a bit off-the-wall beautiful character who knows what she wants. Her brother is found dead, and she is the only one right to call it murder.

Mia teams up with her brother's detective partner to solve the crime. The investigation goes through many roadblocks, many of Mia's making from that moment.

As a book one in a series, the author keeps the reader engaged. However, I felt something missing, a cement that will keep the characters together through the series.

A good free read. Purchase: https://amzn.to/3Ma8rEU

SAM, I AM

SAM, I AM

REGINA PUCKETT

Review by Author Roy Murry

The book's introduction to Amazon tells it all. This story is a short, gripping adventure into the dark side.

I have read many of Ms. Puckett's works. 'Sam I AM' is an excellent example of her work as a word spinner.

However, I would have liked to read a more extended version.

Review of The Paris Package

The Paris Package

A. W. Hartoin

Review by Author Roy Murry

This thriller kept me turning the pages. Stella Bled and Nicky Lawrence jump from one frying pan into another on their honeymoon in Europe, going from Vienna to Paris.

They have an object the Nazis want in their possession and will do everything to get it. The brown shirts use lethal force in the pursuit to capture Stella, who has the object and is the main character in this series.

The Bleds of German descent own a major beer factory distribution in the USA and have supported companies in Germany for years. On Stella and Nicky's deadly adventure trying to escape their pursuers, they use those companies as refuse.

But not all goes well, even in Paris, where the story comes to an explosive ending, giving an exciting lead to this series' second book.

Hartoin's writing is snappy and quick-paced. However, a humous side to the story between Stella and Nicky keeps the novel together.

A fun read with essential life lessons interwoven.
